Vonita Christine Miller, age 74, of Harrison, left this life Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas. Christine was born November 23, 1940, in Compton Arkansas, the daughter of Herb and Bessie (Sims) Brisco. Christine was preceded in death by her father, Herb Brisco; her daughter, Cathy May Smith; and her daughter-in-law, Ilene May.
Christine lived for many years in Harrison where she worked at the Boone County Hospital as a nurse's aide. After leaving Harrison, she moved to Hollister, Missouri working in the Branson area. After retiring she returned to Harrison. Christine enjoyed her nursing years and had been remembered by many who she came in contact with and was always willing to help.
While growing up, Christine enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. She never met a stranger and was never without a smile for anyone. The time spent with her children and grandchildren were always the special times.
Christine is survived by her mother, Bessie (Sims) Brisco, of Harrison; her sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Tana May of Harrison and Richard May of Bella Vista, Arkansas; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Anne Brisco, of Harrison; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Gary Gregory, of Berryville, Arkansas; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was Friday, June 19, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
Funeral service was Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnny Walters officiating.
Interment was in Plumlee Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff May, Andrew Allison, Trevor Allison, Gared Jennings, Greg Jennings and Doug Brisco.
