I only spoke with Tank twice when he was on a return trip from Sturgis. The call had gone out for a place to sleep for a Combat Vet Motorcycle member traveling home and my wife and I responded. Tank never stopped and pressed on through for home. Which looking back I would have loved to meet the man in person.

War is a unique condition to the human experience, something that bonds us regardless of what branch of service you did your tour in. I cannot imagine what his family is experiencing in all this. I only hope that the feeling of loss gets smaller over time and that the positive things shine through.

My name is Richard D. Barton CVMA 16-1, Sergeant at Arms.
