Katie Thomas Harmon, 84, of Batesville died Monday, May 25, 2015 at a local nursing home.
She was born in Almond, Arkansas on November 23, 1930 and was the daughter of Chester and Arkie (Kerlen) Thomas.

She enjoyed traveling, sewing, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and loved to read. She was a homemaker and in her later years, she worked at the Boys Ranch. Katie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Harmon of Batesville; a son, Chester Harmon and his wife, Tanya of Cabot; a daughter, Candice Weber and her husband, Rodney of Batesville; six grandchildren, Katie Weber Meitzen, Jennifer Weber Marbury, Chelsea Harmon Emerson, Emily Harmon, Nicole Pearcy, and Chris Crowder; ten great-grandchildren, Cody Meitzen, Kylea Meitzen, Kinley Meitzen, Brier Meitzen, T. J. Marbury, Wyatt Marbury, Jacob Marbury, Jordan Emerson, Jackson Emerson, and Tyler Holt. She is also survived by two brothers, Said Thomas and his wife, Annette of Conway and Martin Thomas and his wife, Phyllis of Little Rock. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Chuck Harmon; a brother, Stanley Thomas, and two sisters, Carol Heuer and Faith Brackett.

Pallbearers will be Matt Marbury, Roy Cartwright, Caleb Brackett, Andy Walmsley, Rodney Brackett, and Micah Brackett.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Scott officiating and music by Larry Poff. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
