Mary Cooper and family, I am so privileged to have known you and Gene as you lived in Earle. My love , admiration and condolences are with you youface this difficult time in your life. May the Lord Bless you and keep you always.
Gene Morrison was a wonderful man and strong civic leader in Earle and Crittenden County. My condolences to all the Morrison clan.
O what a better world we would live in, if only half of us displayed half of the morals and principals that Mr.Gene lived his life by. He made all of us and everything he was involved in better. I'll never be able to repay the kind words or "pat on the back" that Mr. Gene knew just when to give.
Three short stories. When invited the first time to go duck hunting with the Morrison Clan, Mr. Gene declared "eat a good breakfast, you never know when you might eat again". and when he said Steve "as the first time to hunt with us, you get the first shot. " I should have known better to fumble with the safety. For an older gentleman Mr. Gene could throw up that Browning pretty fast. It's not much fun shooting other's cripples!!
Number two, when Mr. Gene wanted to show you some ground in the spring, be prepared to get stuck. But one call on the radio( no cell phone then), there would be folks coming from all directions to pull us out.
Third, showing his faith in God. In as a spring such as this one, after weeks of long fighting the elements 20 acres of rice finally were planted. Mr. Gene put his arm on my shoulder and said" Steve this 20 acres is carrying the whole load of the farming operation, if God is willing we will make it. God was and they continue to make it".
Mom Morrison, Carolyn, Carl, and Cooper....also extended family...I was saddened to hear of Your loss! I so remember what a wonderful person, husband, father, and friend Mr. Morrison was! He was truly one of the kindest and sweetest persons that I've ever known! I always loved the Morrison family and I still do! May The Good Lord wrap his arms around each of you as you go thru tomorrow and the coming days. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with each of you.
Mrs.Morrison, Carolyn, Carl,Cooper and family, I was blessed to have known Gene my entire life and that was a blessing! I fondly remember him sitting on the store porch drinking a coke and getting the daily NEWS from Butch, we had many laughs about that. May God Bless you all, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We were so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. Our deepest sympathy to Mary Cooper, Carolyn, Carl, Cooper, and all of Gene's wonderful family. We were proud to count ourselves among his extended network of cousins. The family is much diminished by his loss but was greatly blessed and enriched by his long, full, and good life. May God give you His comfort and peace both now and in the days to come.

We have lost on of the finest gentlemen that I have known, a member of the Greatest Generation. My sympathy to Mary Cooper, Carl, Cooper, and Carolyn and the entire family.I have never know a more honest, humble, caring person than Gene. Having worked for and with him for 28 years at Farm Credit, I had the opportunity to know Gene very well. A person who cared about everyone, the entire community, in fact the entire nation. A lot of wisdom, knowledge, and great leadership goes with Gene. He served very well, a true Christian man. John
so sorry for your loss my thoughts and prayers will be with your family
