Scott McKenzie Snider

of Little Rock, AR

November 21, 1967 - April 16, 2015

SCOTT MCKENZIE SNIDER, 47, of Little Rock, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Thursday, April 16, 2015. He was born in Paragould, AR on November 21, 1967, to R. Edward and Betty Lynn Snider of Arkadelphia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Mary Keathley Snider, and their three children: Keathley (12), Mary McKenzie (10), and Pearson (7) of Little Rock; his brother, Steve Snider and wife, Beth, and their children: Jack, Chase, and Shelby Snider, from Little Rock; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bobby and Elizabeth Rehm and their daughter, Eliza, from Russellville; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Matthew and Margaret Benson of Fayetteville; and his mother-in-law, Sarah Keathley, of Danville. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Buford ''Bood'' Keathley, of Danville.

He was raised in Arkadelphia where he graduated high school and attended Ouachita Baptist University. Scott was an active participant in Tiger Tunes, a member of Rho Sigma Social Club, and a member of the OBU Alumni Advisory Board. He worked for several years in the pharmaceutical industry and just celebrated his 20th anniversary with VHA as the Vice President of Market Management and Supply Networks. He was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church where he served on the vocal ministry team, led a Community Group and an Authentic Manhood Small Group, and volunteered in numerous other activities.

Scott's life reflected the love of Jesus in every way. He was an amazing husband, compassionate father, and friend to many. He was known for his unconditional kindness to every person he met. He took everything in life and made it fun. He was an unbelievably caring friend with the biggest heart anyone could imagine. He loved the Lord, and his faith was as big as his heart. He was passionate for worshipping the Lord and spent his entire life blessing others with his God-given voice as he led worship services and sang in weddings for friends and loved ones.

Scott loved his wife, Mary, with all of his heart and was known for modeling Christ's leadership in their home by rejecting passivity, accepting responsibility, leading courageously, and investing eternally. He was an amazing dad who adored his children and spent many hours coaching them in numerous sports. He taught them and their teammates the importance of character based on Biblical principles, and he left a Godly legacy that will continue in all of the lives he touched.

On Monday, April 20, 2015, a visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Rd., Little Rock, AR 72223. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M., in the Worship Center. I was blessed to work with Scott via VHA/AROK. He always had a smile on his face and genuinely cared about the health care facilities and their staff. It is wonderful to know that he served the Lord Jesus Christ and that he is in the presence of our Savior! May the Lord comfort his family. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8

My deepest condolences to your family. Losing a loved one is never easy. As you continue in life keep the wonderful words found at Revelations 21:4 with you and hold dear the thought found in Isaiah 25:8. No, I can not bring your loved one back but I hope that the comfort in knowing that God not only wants to but will is encouraging in itself. - Acts 24:15. Again, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Ashley Worley

I just recently met Scott last year when Pearson and my son played soccer against each other, and then together in a tournament. He was warm instantly and very kind. This year the boys pay together and he was always there and very supportive. He is a very good man and left a fine example for the boys to follow and his daughter to look for in the future. I was so shocked when I found out, it was if I had lost a friend of many years. That is the kind of guy he is and what I remember most about him. My prayers are with the family and fellow friends. He will truly be missed. I thank god that our paths crossed. God Bless you all.

So saddened to hear about your tragic loss. Scott was in my youth group when I was the Youth Minister at FBC, Arkadelphia, way back in 1983-1987. My memories of him are just like what I've read from others: lots of fun, kind, loving. I can't imagine what his family is going through right now. Just wanted to add my condolences. God's grace and peace to you.

I got to know Scott while directing the Adventure Princess program through the YMCA. Scott was an active father throughout the years and a passionate co-chief of the Bruinettes tribe. It was a beautiful thing to be part of a program that enabled fathers to connect to their daughters, and Scott was truly one of the best. He will be greatly missed. I do not know this family personally, only through friends. I too lost my husband suddenly of natural causes just 8 months ago. I have a way to go in my grief, but I just want to say the love of God, family, and friends have been a true blessing. I heal daily. It won't be painless at all...I've said I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I have done my best to bring honor to my husband's death and make it a beautiful thing by giving God the glory for getting me through the worst time of my life...eight months ago I never thought I would be at this point and I give God all the glory. It sounds like Scott knew and loved our saviour and served Him well. My heart aches for you all. Please know it is my honor to pray each of you through this very difficult time in your lives. Thoughts and prayers for the family. Scott was an amazing person. I didn't know his wife and children but I could tell by pictures that he truly cherished them. I attended school with Scott and we were in choir together. He had such a big heart. Will continue to pay for everyone.

Scott was a very close family friend as we all grew up together in Arkadelphia. He and my sister Paige were the best of friends. Heaven is a much BRIGHTER place today since Scott's smiling, laughter, and singing entered its pearly gates! Prayers for peace and comfort from Hugo, OK for your precious family today and in the coming days. Our Sunday School class is diligently praying for all of you.

Mary,

My heart goes out to your family. Scott was such a great Christian, husband, father, and friend. He had such a passion for life and that was obvious the first time I met him.

You guys made me and Melissa feel so welcome in bible study and I thank you for that. I feel lucky to have known Scott even if it was for such a short time. He was a big part in bringing me closer to God and I will always be greatful for that. We will continue to pray for your family.
