Jon Michael Barnard

of Greenbrier, AR

August 13, 1960 - April 11, 2015

Jon Michael Barnard, 54, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, passed away suddenly, of natural causes, on Saturday, April 11, 2015. He was born August 13, 1960, in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Ronald Barnard and Janice (Grimes) Barnard.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald Barnard; and nephew, Mark Hartman.

Jon is survived by his loving wife, of 28 years, Christi Barnard of Greenbrier and four devoted children, daughter, Haleigh of Greenbrier, and sons Ryan, of Conway, Jon Michael and wife Miranda of Greenbrier and Connor of Greenbrier. He is also survived by sisters Leigh Ann Hall (Kevin) of Morris, Illinois and Denise Hartman (Ed) of Chicago, Illinois, and brothers Tom Barnard (Dee) of Coal City, Illinois and Michael Barnard of Lisle, Illinois, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jon was a graduate of Coal City High School in Illinois and American Trades Institute, where he learned the trade of welding. He was employed at Centerpoint Entergy for the past 20 years, where he was privileged to work with some of his closest friends.

Jon accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior 29 years ago and his life was changed forever. A member of Grace Baptist Church of Conway, Arkansas for 25 years, Jon was passionate about helping others find the love of God. He faithfully drove the church bus route, making sure children and families had a ride to church, taught Sunday school, and worked in the Youth Ministry.

It was also important to Jon to help individuals with special needs. He loved volunteering for the Special Olympics and participated in many of their local fundraising and outreach events.

Jon, a proud father of four, loved sports and was an avid spectator at his children's sporting events throughout the years. He loved his children dearly and was very proud of them and their achievements. He gave his children unconditional love and constant support. They were his pride and joy, and one of his greatest accomplishments.

Jon was a man who lived every second of his life putting the needs of others before his own. Whether it was spending time with his family, giving his very best effort on the job, faithfully volunteering his time and energy to his church or Special Olympics, Jon invested tirelessly in the task at hand. Jon loved the Lord, adored his family, had a true servant's heart, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Viewing will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6-8pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 115 South Broadview, Greenbrier, AR 72058 (501)679-2575, with funeral services taking place Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 61 Green Valley Drive, Greenbrier, AR 72058, with Bro. J.D. Tyson and Bro. Frank Fason officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery, 25 HWY 287, Greenbrier, AR.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Hall, Darrin Gainer, Freddie Miller, Keith Cates, David Hargrove and Jon Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Grace Baptist Church Youth Ministries, 1540 Trison Lane, Conway, AR 72032.

I'm not sure how our Russellville/Conway area will go on without such a great man but hopefully it will be through his example of the kind of employee & person we all need to be. Jon was capable of getting a job completed better & faster than the best of them. For the family I will be praying for the memories of such a great man to push you through the very difficult days/years ahead. I hope you will find peace in knowing his love will always be in your hearts & carry the honor it has been to have had a husband & father like Jon. I'm saddened to hear of the loss of Jon. CenterPoint will not be the same without him on the team. He was not just a hard worker but a good friend to everyone. He always had something encouraging and kind to say and that left such an impression on me. I will miss his mischievous grin and twinkle in his eye when playing jokes on one another. There will be a noticeable void left.

I am thinking and praying for each family member. May you each have the peace that passes all understanding.

1st off Condolences to the Family. When I first met Jon, we hit it off right off the bat. Which I'm sure it was that way with everyone that met him. Jon had that certain aura about him. Jon and I worked together for a few years. We seemed to accomplish a lot of work, and have fun doing it as well. Jon (Barn Yard) as some of us called him, was a pleasure to work with. He was a great employee, and family man, as you'll already know. I never heard anyone speak a bad word about Jon, nor Jon speak a bad word about anyone else. People like Jon are far and few between. He will definitely be missed by myself and the Company. You'll are in our thoughts, and prayers.

Jon was an amazing individual who could convey his thoughts without prejudice or malice. I truly don't remember a time when he spoke badly of anyone. He was so incredibly proud of his family. You could see the love in his smile as he talked about each one of you. The workplace will not be the same without him and his coworkers here at CenterPoint are deeply saddened. I pray God will wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you today and in the days ahead. I have no doubt Jon is in the arms of Jesus, but I know I will miss seeing him and visiting with him. Dear Family and Friends,

I'm sorry for your loss. I just wanted to leave you with an encouraging scripture that has helped me deal with the loss of a loved one. It is found in the Bible Book of Revelation 21:4, it reads, " And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
