Albert ''Joe'' McLaughlin, age 83, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Harrison. He was born July 13, 1931, in Hackberry, Arkansas, the youngest of 12 children, to Charlie and Ethel (Ludwig) McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Odas McLaughlin of Powhattan, AR, Olas McLaughlin of Walnut Ridge, AR, Oscar McLaughlin of Lake City, AR, William ''Tood'' McLaughlin, Arthur McLaughlin, and Buster McLaughlin, all of Black Oak, AR, and Floyd McLaughlin of Dixie, AR; and his sisters, Opel McLaughlin of Powhatton, AR, Lola Parker of Indianapolis, IN, and Lois Smallwood of Black Oak, AR.

Joe was a member of Northside Church of Christ. He married Fayon Bunch August 4, 1951. Joe was a butcher for Bailey's Grocery in Black Oak, Arkansas, worked for Hayes Store in Monette, Arkansas, worked at Liberty Cash in Truman, Arkansas and was a salesman for Broadway Packing Company in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Joe and Faye moved to Harrison in August, 1964 where he worked for Biederman's Furniture, Reeves Furniture, Clark & Eoff and Watts and Webb.

Joe enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball. He had played semi-pro baseball. He coached Little League baseball with his sons and Little League and Babe Ruth baseball with his grandsons. He also umpired baseball and softball games.

Joe enjoyed playing golf with all his buddies. He played several times a week until his health diminished. He would play in tournaments with his son, Mike, son-in-law, Gary, and grandsons, Josh and Aaron. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

Joe is survived by his wife, Faye (Bunch) McLaughlin, of the home; his sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Susan McLaughlin of Springfield, Missouri and David and Vicky McLaughlin of Harrison; his daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Gary Clark, of Harrison; and his sister, Glenda Osborn, of Paragould, Arkansas.

Joe is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Heather Neal and her husband Thomas and Adam McLaughlin and his wife Paige, all of Springfield, MO, Joshua Clark and his wife Angie of Rogers, AR, Aaron Clark and his wife Lauren of Republic, MO, Katie Ann Paddock and her husband David of Tulsa, OK, Shelby Daniels and Tyler Daniels, both of Harrison, AR, and Kylee Kelly of Alpena, AR; his great-grandchildren, Emelia, Ellasyn, and Everly Clark of Rogers, Bryson Kelly, Bella and Bentley Davidson of Alpena, AR, and Ryman Neal of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.



Visitation was Friday, March 20, 2015, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Northside Church of Christ, with Steve Powers and Rick Quattlebaum officiating.

Interment was in Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joshua Clark, Aaron Clark, Adam McLaughlin, Jim Simpson, Brian Osborn, Edwin McLaughlin and Scott McLaughlin.

To Kerry and Family.....My deepest sympathy to you and all of your family.....I remember the many times I would see your dad at Aaron's ballgames....he took such great pride in his grandchildren....keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers during this sad and difficult time.
