of Hartman, AR
January 21, 1967 - March 12, 2015
Mr. Walter Paul Allen Stevens, 48, of Hartman, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Hartman. He was born January 21, 1967 in Albany, New York to Bruce Arthur and Elsie Ruth (Ilves) Stevens Mefford.
Walter was a loving companion to Kim, his sweetheart of seven years, a caring brother, and a loyal friend. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially dogs, a passion he shared with his late mother. His love of the automobile began young and continued to grow. He took many trips from New York to California and destinations in between. He was very hands-on and enjoyed learning about history, listening to music (classic country and classic rock), working on computers, taking photographs, and growing plants. He worked in auto dismantling and roofing at different times through the years and was good with tools. He loved the freedom of being outdoors and spending quality time with friends and family-- talking, laughing, reminiscing, and relaxing. He will be dearly missed by all and will remain in our hearts --until we meet again.
Mr. Stevens is preceded in death by his mother, father, and step-father, Alonzo Mefford. He is survived by brother, David Stevens of Apple Valley, CA; sister, Linda and Mike Gray of Ozark, MO; step-brothers, Donnie and Janet Mefford of Russellville, AR, Lonnie and Marcy Mefford of Ozark, AR, Ronnie and Amber Mefford of Clarksville, AR; step-sisters, Bonnie O'Dell of Tucson, AZ, Connie Mefford of Dover, AR, Jannie Dudley of Tucson, AZ; companion, Kim Andrews of Hartman, AR; aunt, Darlene Bowe of White Creek, NY; uncle, Hillar Ilves of West Friendship, MD; dear family friend, Don Burrow of Castleton, NY.
