November 28, 1922 - March 3, 2015
Andrew K. ''Andy'' Yeager, age 92, of Harrison, went home to be with God, whom he loved so much, Tuesday, March 3, 2015. He was born November 28, 1922, in Wedington, Arkansas, the son of Mina Alice (Shook) and Jesse Franklin Yeager. Andy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison. He owned a trucking company from 1941 to 1942. He and Forest Turner built the Livestock Auction in Siloam Springs, Arkansas in 1946. Andy then got into the used car business in 1947 and opened and ran a Buick dealership from 1952 to 1958. He moved to Harrison and bought Noil Martin Rambler Sales located on Rush Street in 1960 and then sold the business to Jones Brothers Motors in 1974. Andy opened Furniture Mart in 1975 and sold it in 1982. He then opened and operated Andy Yeager Motors from 1981 until present.
Andy was a past president of the Lions Club and a member of the Shriners Club and played a major role in bringing every Shriners Circus to Harrison. He was a 33rd Degree Mason. He was instrumental in putting together the RSVP building in Harrison. Andy was an Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, was on the Board of Directors of the Boone County United Way and was instrumental in helping many children get treatment at the Shriner's Hospital. Andy shared a deep love with his wife Louise. They married in 1941 and shared 73 wonderful years and many adventures together.
Andy was known to many as ''the quarter man'' as he always had a quarter for any child he encountered. But his generosity went well beyond that. Andy gave to many causes, from donating money for the Hospice House to opening his business after hours for high school dances when no other facilities were available. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and loved to dance.
Andy is survived by his wife, Louise (Thompson) Yeager, of the home; his son, Terry Yeager and his wife LeBeta of Harrison; his daughter, Sherry Roberts and her husband Ronnie of Harrison; four ''# 1'' granddaughters, Stephny Yeager and her fiancé Rodger Martin of Little Rock, AR, Stacey and her husband Glenn Wheeler of Harrison, Beth and her husband Carl Roberts of Omaha, and Brandy and her husband Shannon Garvin of Valley Springs; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

My thoughts and prayers are with those Andy left behind. Andy was a wonderful person and a great neighbor. He has had an abundance of friends and will be missed by many. He is with our Lord in heaven now.
To the Yeager family, may our Lord bring comfort during this time. I had the opportunity to get to know Andy while I worked at Magness Toyota. I always loved to see him coming through the door to do business and to fellowship, however quickly. He was a true gentlemen, a solid businessman but most of all, a man with purpose.. It was obvious how he felt about his family, his faith and his community.
We will all miss his gentle spirit and bear-like hand shake. God Bless !
Andy was such a wonderful person. He helped me with several vehicles. I loved it whenever I would stop in to make a payment, he would give me a hug and make sure I had a pen or a calender or whatever he had at the time. he was so easy to talk to and he just had a way about him that made you want to be his friend. I am so sorry for this loss. You will never find another gentleman like him.
You made listening to the radio fun...Catchy phrases, that was the Andy hallmark and a reassuring indication that someone was thinking and on the ball.
You were a valuable asset to this community in fact the whole region, sigh...,You will be missed.
Thanks for all your help and friendship.
Andy was always so kind to me no matter what the situation. He did have a big heart and always tried to help someone if at all possible. I always enjoyed seeing him at MasterChef. I think I would be right in saying his most favorite place to eat and of course, being able to visit with everyone. You will be missed my friend but what a wonderful life!
Mr. Andy, you'll be remembered as a man who loved his Lord, his family, and others. There could be no better legacy. Mrs. Louise and family, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Andy was such a wonderful man that was truly iconic in Harrison. I first got to know him through United Way and was impressed with how much dedication he gave to all of the charitable organizations he was involved with. Andy always had a kind word and I don't think he ever forgot a name. I ran into him at Papa Genes last year, sadly it was the last time I got to speak to him. This town has lost a legend. My sincerest condolences to his family, there will never be another Andy Yeager!
