Betty M. Bruce, 87, of Mountain View, formerly of Batesville and Black Rock died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Born June 27, 1927, in Batesville, she was the daughter of Joseph Young McPherson and Rita Mashburn McPherson Peters.

She enjoyed dancing, all kinds of music and listening to ''pickin'' on the square in Mountain View. She spent most of her life as a nurse; taking care of people was one of her favorite things.
She enjoyed quilting and embroidering, having learned to sew at a young age on a treadle sewing machine. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Mountain View.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis C. Smith of Black Rock, Arkansas and Sue Wiles of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Michelle Wiles Williams of Mountain Home, Cathrene Smith Meeks of Black Rock and Kimberly Bruce Will of Grove, Oklahoma; twelve great-grandchildren, Brooke Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Derrick Meeks, Ariel Lindholme, Justin Williams, Casey Williams, Mallory Williams, Beth Crace, Tiffany Downing, Destiny Barker, Jourdy Bailey, Stephany Corter; seven great-great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Williams, Travis Williams, Abbigail Williams, Peyton Bailey, Kaden Lindholme, Alexander Braswell and Gracie May Downing; one sister-in-law, Jean Insell; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard ''Buster'' Bruce; two sisters, Wanda Wattenbarger, Jeannie Taylor; two sons, Leonard ''Pete'' Bruce Jr., and Timothy Bruce; one granddaughter, Melissa Smith Brear; and one great-granddaughter, Bethany Brear.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville with Bro. David Insell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Justin Williams, Casey Williams, Matthew Stewart, Frankey Meeks, Steve Insell, and Larry Adams.

Honorary pallbearers are Brooke Stewart, Derrick Meeks, Ariel Lindholme, Mallory Williams, Beth Crace, Tiffany Downing, Destiny Barker and Jourdy Bailey.

Burial will be in Alderbrook Cemetery at Desha under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m Tuesday, March 3, 2015 prior to the service.
