Velda Irene Gray, 97, of Booneville, Arkansas died February 26, 2015 in Booneville. She was born December 22, 1917 in Belleville, Arkansas, the daughter of Pat Holt Lassiter Sr. and Laura Ruby ''Fryar'' Lassiter. Velda was a homemaker and a member of Woodland Heights Church of Christ.
Velda is preceeded in death by her parents, Pat Holt and Laura Ruby Lassiter, her husband of sixty-two years James Arlton Gray, one great-great granddaughter, one great-great grandson, two sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura Rowena Meador of Shannon Hills, Arkansas, Jeanette Bryant of Booneville, Arkansas and Velda Avay Jaynes of North Little Rock, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Booneville Funeral Service Chapel from 5:00- 7:00 P.M. on Sunday March 1, 2015.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 02, 2015 at Booneville Funeral Service Chapel followed by burial at the Havana City Cemetery in Havana. Arrangements are under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be James Meador, Mark Meador, Stanley Bryant, Brian Jaynes, Christopher King, Heath Meador, Matthew Porter and Zachary Meador.
