Dominic J. ''Nick'' Brocato, age 87, of Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Brocato was born September 11, 1927 at Helena to the late Frank Brocato and the late Nettie Bevilaque Brocato. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena.
Big Nick loved spending most of his time outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, gardening or just piddling with his tools. He was a devout Catholic. Family was his priority. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved reminiscing about childhood memories and his days spent in the Navy. He also loved all the times he spent with his beloved brother and all of his extended family. His wife was his most cherished love and he longed to be reunited with her. He lived a very fulfilled life and will be missed tremendously by many.
He is survived by his son, Nick Brocato (Mindy) of Texarkana, Arkansas; two daughters, Rita Brocato of Lexa, Arkansas and Janet Henderson (Billy) of Nacogdoches, Texas; five grandchildren, Jordan and Lindsay Henderson, Peyton, Griffin and Presley Brocato; one brother, Joe Brocato of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann Gray Brocato; one brother, Sam Francis Brocato; and one sister, Josephine Brocato.
A service for Nick Brocato will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena. Rosary service will be Friday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m., with visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Helena.
Pallbearers are Mike Brocato, David Brocato, Vince Brocato, Billy Ray Brocato, Mike Brasher and Dominic Brasher. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Parker, Stanley Herrington, Erwin Herrington, Jeff Zink, Sam Saia, Jr., Watt Huff and Bud Huff.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
To all of Papa Nick's children, I am saddened by your loss. To Nicky, who I spent so much time with when we were growing up, I am truly sorry that I am just hearing about your loss. I would have been there in a second if I had of known. Know that I am thinking of you and your family in this time of sadness. But I also rejoice in the knowledge that he is with our Lord and Saviour.
He was a great man and will be missed!
Within the last year, Nick has been in my office several times and we really had a good visit talking about some of the old days inHelena that we shared. We laughed al lot .He seemed to be so happy and free..So,I learned tat he was content to live just like he was goin to long time and has his goal to help be happy too.Hewant to make many good friends. we love for who he was to us and will ever forget him

We dearly loved Nick. He was always a favorite of mine. My Mom Angie Brocato loved him also. He will be truly missed. Now he will be up in Heaven with his family and he can rest in peace.
