Douglas Herman Jackson, age 52 of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, January 26, 2015 at his home. He was born in Carthage, Illinois on September 24, 1962, the sixth child of eight, born to Manuel and Barbara (Guthrie) Jackson.

Although he was born in Illinois, Douglas moved back to his roots in Maumee, Arkansas. He has many friends and was known for his kind heart and his love for a good time. He was an AVID razorback fan and looked forward to every season, whether basketball or football. What Douglas loved most was spending time with his family-just catching up and reminiscing of all the memorable events they shared. He began his working career as a child, farming, working livestock, chopping wood, logging, picking berries-anything that needed done. In high school he helped build fishing boats for his dad's company. Later he was a lead man in fiberglass because of his talent and hard work. He hauled canoes often, also carpentry, roofing, rock work and factory work. His last job was in canoe rentals for 5 years, until further injury forced him into early retirement.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Ann Jackson of the home; four children, Julia Jackson of Yellville, Tye Lounsbury of Hot Springs, Jonathon Jackson of Marshall and Darrell Jackson of San Diego, CA; two sisters in law, Jennifer with son, Jon and Courtney with son, Darrell; two brothers, Jerry Jackson of Marshall and George Jackson of KS; one sister, Kim Despain; seven grandchildren; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins from all around.

Cremation services are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
