Marjorie Sharpe Davis

of Little Rock, AR

March 10, 1926 - January 21, 2015

Marjorie Sharpe Davis went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2015. She was born March 10, 1926 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Vastine and Mildred Sharpe. She grew up in the same city and graduated from W. Palm Beach High School. She met the love of her life (Warren ''Dave'' Davis) while working as a secretary in an office building occupied by the U.S. Army during WWII. Once married they moved to Mobile, AL, England, Omaha, NE, Tampa, FL, Spain, and back to Tampa, where they lived the next 46 years. Marjorie and Dave moved to Little Rock five years ago, joined Immanuel Baptist Church, were members of Pairs and Squares Sunday School class, and moved to Chenal Fox Ridge two years ago.

She was the consummate wife of a USAF officer, moving her family from military base to base, making new friends, participating in activities and providing leadership for the Officer's Wives Clubs, entertaining in her home, and playing bridge, darts and other games. She was always involved in church activities, served as the Sunday School Director at Bayshore Baptist Church (Tampa), and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross serving in military hospitals for over 50 years. She loved to travel, read, spend time with her family and friends, and watch football games. She also enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming in the ocean. She had a flare for clothes, shoes and accessories and was always dressed impeccably.

She will be remembered for her kindness and concern for others. She always put others first and was supportive regardless of the adversity. She was the perfect role model for wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Dorothye Vaughan. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Warren Davis; two children, Kathy Eisenach (Jeff) and Ken Davis (Bren), both of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Terri Davis Kelley, Wade Davis (Bekah), and Kyle Eisenach (Emily); eight grandchildren, Noah, Kaya and Jade Kelley, Hadlee Rodgers, Haven and Hayes Davis, Noah and Lily Eisenach; four nieces and four nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kajkenova and the Chenal Fox Ridge staff for their love, support and excellent care.

A Celebration of life service will be held at the Chapel at Immanuel Baptist Church 12 noon, Monday, January 26, 2015. The family will receive friends following the services. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR (501) 224-8300.

Visits to my Gram's [Madelene Davis] house in Osage City, Kansas by Great Uncle Dave and Great Aunt Margie are fondly remembered!

I was just a kiddo, but to this day I remember all of the occasions that Gram excitedly told me Uncle Dave and Aunt Margie were coming to visit us!! :) With each visit, I remember good food [the adults drinking what I presumed to be good wine], lively stories, and much laughter. These memories are some of my fondest memories of my childhood today because their visits brought all of the family together. As an adult, I now treasure those memories even more!

Our loss is the gain of all the angels that she now spends her time with, including my Gram and Grandpa Davis. May we chose to remember the "good ole days" in our time of sorrow and loss. Sending love and hugs your way.

Mrs. Davis was a gracious and loving lady. I knew her as the mother of a very close friend. I called her Mrs. Davis because I respected her and the many ways she accepted her children's friends as friends of her own. She was easy to talk to and always interested in the well being of my family. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Thanks to you Mrs. Davis for all you hospitality over the years. God bless.

A wonderful lady, so kind and thoughtful! She was the wedding director for our ceremony at Bayshore 35 years ago. Mrs. Davis always took the time to befriend the young couples at church.

Our condolences to "Dave" Kathy & family.

Marjorie, Dave, Gus,& Dottie Butler, Bonnie (my wife) played many weekly domino games together when the Davis' were living in Tampa. Marjorie would always have a gift for the winner & loser. New Years Day was a yearly event gathering at her home with friends for a "Pot Luck Brunch." Bayshore Baptist Church Sunday Class was an important part of her life. The members will always have fond memoriies of her and Dave.
