On behalf of Aglow International and myself personally, I want to thank God for the beautiful life of Shirley. She was an inspiration and joy to all who knew her. She loved God, people and this showed in her leadership with Aglow International. Her final journey led to eternal peace and even now Shirley is walking in the light of God's love.
My sympathy goes to Shirley's family. We knew each other back in those Fayetteville days when were were both learning about this wonderful profession of school librarianship. She was a leader and a friend. I shall miss her smile.

Shirley was such an inspiration and a blessing to me! I miss her deeply!
Long ago at the Christmas after we first moved into our house, Shirley gave us a very handy gift of a Tupperware mixing bowl with a handle. Every time we make waffles, we still remember who gave it to us and think of her. Shirley was always thinking of others. Listening to their stories and giving back advice and words of encouragement. Her Christmas gift reminds me of another handy gift - one that God gave us two thousand years ago.
I met Shirley on the 4th floor of Reid Hall when we came to the U of A for our freshman year (1967). We became great friends. She was such a warm person with a winning smile.
Dan, I remember when the two of you met and began dating. 43 years is amazing!
We recently reconnected through email. Shirley worked hard and achieved much in her career in education.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing, but I know heaven is richer today.
Shirley was a wonderful person and admired by many. I enjoyed working with her in our efforts to support libraries. My prayers go out to the family.
