Imogene Gayle McArtor Carlton, age 92, of Parthenon passed away Tuesday evening surrounded by family. She was born May 30, 1922 to William H and Celeste Breedlove McArtor. She accepted the Lord as her Savior in her teens and was a part of the Lone Beach United Baptist Church family all her life. She loved her church family.
She is survived by: Sister-Avanell McArtor Cone of Harrison; Son-Ford Carlton of Claremore, OK; Daughter-in-Law-Bonnie Carlton of Jasper; Nephew-Joe & Georgiana Robinson of Bergman; Nieces-Sharon & Bill Casey, Cheryl & Wesley Crow, Julia & Tom Angel all of Harrison and Becky & Abe Clary of Lead Hill; Grandchildren-Kenny & Trish Carlton, Kirby & Regina Carlton, Danny & Linda Carlton, Ronnie & Denise Carlton, Tanya Carlton; 13 Great Grandchildren and many Great, Great Grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Carlton; her sister and brother-in-law-Ruth & Remel Robinson; Son-Burlin Carlton; Brother-in-law-Bob Cone; Daughter-in-law-Burnell Carlton; Niece-Janet Lea Cone; Grandson-Clifford Carlton
Her funeral was at Parthenon First Baptist Church, Friday, November 7th Visitation was an hour prior. Officiating will be Bro Bobby Young.
Pallbearers were Kirby Carlton, Kalan Carlton, Ronnie Carlton, Garland Brasel, Harold Brasel, and Zach Adams.
Honorary Pallbearers were members of Lone Beach United Baptist Church, the staff of Newton County Nursing Home, Dr. Geoffrey Dunaway and Bob Harris, who was always there to serve Gayle.
I grew up at Parthenon I knew Gale all this time and she was a sweet lady.RIP ####
I remember you as such a sweet person. My sister's mother-in-law, but also a close friend to so many in my family. Rest in peace.
May you Rest In Peace Gayle. You were truly a precious person and I loved to hear you laugh.
I sm so sorry to hear of this Gayle was always ready with a smile.
