Sarah Elizabeth ''Liz'' Cox, age 89, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2014 at Jonesboro. Mrs. Cox was born October 10, 1924 at Marshall, Texas to the late William Thomas Alexander and the late Maudie Mae Dean Alexander. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and as an office manager for Helena Water Company from where she retired. Mrs. Cox was a member of Second Baptist Church in West Helena.
She is survived by a son, Wally Cox, Jr. (Karen) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; two daughters, Carla Jean Long of Jonesboro and Sandra Elizabeth Terry (Jim) of Independence, Missouri; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Cox, Sr.; and her parents.
A service for Liz Cox will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Brother Randy Williamson will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are Jim Terry, Greg Terry, James Terry, Brett Long, Donnie Davidson, Clint Hardman and Tommy Green.
Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church of West Helena, P.O. Box 2505, West Helena, AR 72390.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.

I was very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a very sweet lady, my mom talked about her about lot. I know you will miss her.

What a great lady. Always so kind & that wonderful smile is something I always think of when I hear her name. Know you all will miss her. May God give you peace and comfort at this sad time in your lives.

I guess I've known Mrs. Cox all of my life. She was such a sweet woman. She always took the time to speak to me, even as a child. Seems like she always had a piece of candy or gum for me when I was little.
