Mr. Mayo Hurst, 76 of Dover, passed away Monday September 15, 2014 in Russellville. He was born February 28, 1938 in Pelham, Georgia to Ambres Lee and Annie Jewel (Martin) Hurst.
Mr. Hurst joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 16, and after leaving the Corps, he became a factory worker for many years to come. He later moved to Searcy Co. where he turned his most passionate hobby into his way of life, being a cattle farmer. Mr. Hurst also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with Taylor and Laura after moving to Dover. Mayo's greatest joys in life were living and spending time with his loving wife Lorena, his grandson Michael, and all his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Hurst is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Willie Lee, Samuel L, Fred, and William; two sisters, Verdie Bell and Martha. He is survived by his wife Lorena Jean (Judd) Hurst and grandson Michael of Dover, Arkansas; three sons, Stephen of Georgia, Keith of Harrison, Arkansas and Mike of St. Joe, Arkansas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
Visitation will be open at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Mr. Hurst's Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Gravel Hill with Rev. Sam Judd officiating.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Hurst, Justin Hurst, Paul Tilley, Roy Singleton, Tanner Watkins, Jeremiah Judd and Paul Judd.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Taylor Judd and Laura Sowa.

Lorena, i am so very sorry for your loss. It came as quite a shock. I seldom get online because of where we live so i didn't know until today. He was a wonderful (although slightly stubborn man) and he will be sorely missed. Call me anytime (221-1046).
