I was a member of the Central High Graduating Class of 59' with Wayne. I remember him as being warm, friendly and always willing to give a helping hand. He was dependable and well liked. God be with you. I'm so sorry for your loss; we have all lost someone special.

Wayne joined the Navy when i was young. It seemed that he was gone forever but it was only about 4 years.I was so happy when his service commitment was over. He played a major role in providing for our family for several years. He never missed work, even when he was under the weather. He never complained about his responsibilities. We listened to the St. Louis Cardinals on KFFA and rarely missed a game. He taught me how to play baseball (how to throw a curve ball and field) with hours of time spent when he got home from work each day even though he was tired. He was a gentle and kind person and one of the most intelligent people I have ever known. God bless him and I am proud to say he was my big brother. Marilyn, I know how close you were with Wayne. I pray that God will provide you with strength in the coming months.

He was in the Navy, in a neat blue uniform. He stood so tall next to me. He was soft spoken and, it seemed, his smile was rare. But, he let me, a 6-year-old cousin he rarely saw, play with his model planes. And he showed me his books and would talk to me about airplanes and ships. And, he made me smile & laugh. He didn't seem to mind my watching his every move and following him all around the house. Those are my earliest memories of my cousin. They only get better from there.

Marilyn & Tina, I'm so sorry for your loss. More than words can say. Wayne was a good man who loved his family...including those that pestered him the most!

I looked up Wayne's photo in an annual. I remembered him as a nice quiet guy - one of a few like that that I remember. Sad that so many of our classmates are no longer with us. But, we can know that we will be together again some day.
