My condolences to Gary and Gail. Your Dad was one of the finest persons I have known. He had such great love and devotion for his wife, his children and his church. I know there is a special place in heaven for him. I can still see your Dad and Mom in the old Asbury kitchen preparing those Sunday night UMY dinners. What a wonderful legacy they left. God bless you and sustain you at this time.

I wanted to reach out and tell you what a special person I thought Johnny was. He and Martha were friends of my parents for many years. The last time I was with him we discussed a photograph that he had of my Father that I was completely unaware of. It was a photo of my Father playing a piano that had eventually been passed down to me. A few weeks later I received a copy of it in the mail. It is a treasured possession now and sits on top of the piano. Just one example of what a loving and caring man Johnny was. We will all remember what a kind and generous person he was. Our thoughts are with you at this time. Love, Judy Woodruff Barker
