Lela Mae Holden

of Malvern, AR

October 10, 1927 - August 18, 2014

Lela Mae Holden, 86, of Malvern, went to be with her sweet Savior on Monday, August 18, 2014. She was born on Monday, October 10, 1927 in Judsonia, Arkansas to the late Charley and Pearl Williams Teague.

She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she had served her Lord in teaching Sunday School, Bible School and loved singing in the choir. She was a homemaker and so much more. She never met a stranger and her love of others was evident in her family, church and community. In her journal writing she left us these words, ''You never lose anything by giving to others. Remember that as you go through life.''

Mrs Holden is survived by her devoted children, Linda Kuhnert (Dale) of Hot Springs, Kathy McNabb of Benton, Rhonda Thomas (James) of Paragould, Kim Holden of Malvern, Tim Holden (Tina) of Malvern and son-in-law, Ron Daniell of Arkadelphia. These ten grandchildren cherish her memory: Mike Nofsinger, Ricky Kuhnert, Brian McNabb, Leslie Holloway, Bart Daniell, Jamie McClelland, Matthew Thomas, Nathan, Seth and Shane Holden. She adored her great-grandchildren: Hannah Holloway, Rebecca Kuhnert, Randa Perry, Aynslee McNabb and Wyatt McClelland. She is also survived by one sister, Verbenia Skinner.

Mrs Holden was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, H.N. Holden; children, Robbie Holden and Pat Daniell; and siblings, Elsie Teague, Ina Teague, Myrtle Reed, Stella Dorman, Opal Geer, Hazel Crossno and Raymond Teague.

Services honoring her life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 1:00pm, in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy (501)268-3546 with Brother Aaron Holt officiating. Visitation is scheduled to begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia.

The family is grateful to Hospice of Central Arkansas-Hot Springs for the wonderful care they have provided during these years.

I always loved listening to the stories she told, and she made me feel like family from the first moment she welcomed me into her home. I wish you all peace and comfort.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during the loss of Mrs. Holden. She always made me feel welcome in her home, taught me a lot of lessons in my younger days and always showed so much love to her family and friends. May God hold each of you even closer in the days ahead.
