John G. Hill, age 88, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Helena, Arkansas. Mr. Hill was born March 24, 1926 at Creigh, Arkansas to the late Sam Hill and the late Easter Grider Hill. He was a member of Lexa Baptist Church and worked as an office manager for Chicago Mill, from where he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Rohrscheib Hill; two sons, Gary Hill (Ann) of Helena and Michael Hill of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Jinna Compton (Stephen) of Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Mitch Hill, Lisa Hill, Carly Compton and Emory Compton; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Hill (Jean) of Harrah, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clark Hill; and three sisters, Sarah Dawson, Susie Glassco and Beatrice McBee.
Graveside services for John Hill will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Tommy Jacobs will officiate.
Pallbearers are Scott Pryor, Bruiser Pryor, Cotton Rohrscheib, Pokey Rohrscheib, Curtis Rohrscheib and Dewayne Woodyard.
Memorials may be made to Lexa Baptist Church, P.O. Box 189, Lexa, Arkansas 72355 or to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090-6011.
Services will be directed by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Helena, (870) 572-2571.
Many fond memories flood by as I remember Jon Hill. May God be of special comfort to you all at the loss of this fine man.
