The world has lost a great person and I feel the loss of an old friend. Although I've not talked to Barbara in over 20 years, she was always there at some of the darkest periods and I'm grateful for having known her.

My sincere condolences to the family. Grief can be so hard, but God promises that "He will swallow up death forever.". Isaiah 25:8. May the love of family and friends carry you through your grief. S. Lewis

This still seems unreal. Although it was two weeks ago we talked, she seemed like her old self, laughing all the time we talked. She loved all you guys so much. Couldn't talk enough about the five granddaughters. You may not know I lived with Uncle Edwards , Aunt Rayda and Barbara for a short time after graduation. She and I shared a room Although she was about nine years younger, she never bothered any thing that belonged to me. Many memories

I will never forget the sound of Barb's laughter. She was, without a doubt, one of the sweetest and happiest people that I have ever known. I used to see Barb everyday when I was on campus at UCA. She made everyday better with her smile and generous spirit. I feel truly blessed to have called her a friend. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones.

Barb was the heart and soul of the English Department at UCA for all of the years she worked there. She loved her colleagues, and they absolutely adored her. Faculty and majors alike didn't feel the day was complete unless they stopped by the English office before or after classes to kid with, vent to, seek advice from, or discuss the state of the world with Barb. She saw the good in everyone, could give as good as she got in the teasing department, was intelligent and kind and extremely capable, and always made you feel that we were all involved in something important and something good. And if you knew Barb at all, you knew all about her boys and their wives, and of course those grands; they were all truly the lights of her life. I wish she had been able to enjoy many more good years, but I feel so lucky to have known her. My heartfelt sympathy to Stan, Karla, Steve, Mary, and the girls.

Barbara was the secretary for the English Dept. at UCA while I was a student there. She was always smiling and making everyone feel comfortable and special. My daughter and son-in-law are good friends with Steve, and Barbara was a special mother who stood out to all of Steve's friends. She became their mother too.
Barbara always encouraged me when I was a non-traditional student, and she was always positive that I would pass my master's comp. I loved every moment spent with this wonderful lady!!

Momma, I REALLY MISS YOU! but know you are with Mama, Pampa and Robert looking down on us during this difficult time. Thank you for all your guidance, support, patience and LOVE! You are the best momma in the world, and I can only hope to be as great a parent as your were to Steve and I. I will always hold your love for me and my family deep in my heart and your words of wisdom in my mind.

May you rest in peace with GOD and Jesus bless you with his eternal love while holding and sheltering you until we meet again.

I am shocked and saddened at this news. I worked with Barbara for over 25 years at UCA, and she was one of the best and most efficient employees there by far. She loved her faculty members and did a fantastic job for them.

Barbara was one of my dearest friends. She and I shared many adventures and sister love over the years. She could always make me smile and laugh because she always found a way to enjoy every moment. She, Suzy Odom and I were a real trio back in the day. She loved her boys and was a great boys' Mom. I am heartbroken.
