Evelyn M. Douglas, 82, of Conway, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was born July 5, 1931 in Atkins, AR to the late Robert Barry and Lila Lucille Kinder Gill. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Turner Douglas, sister, Gwen Gill, and two brothers, Jerry Gill and James Allen Gill.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Evelyn was a military wife for 21 years and enjoyed reading, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed preparing meals at family gatherings and everyone's favorite was her cornbread dressing. Evelyn loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was known to them as ''Big Mama''.

She is survived by two daughters, Jamie L. Watson (David) and Pamela L. Brent (Brian), and brother, Robert B. Gill, Jr. all of Conway, grandchildren, David D. Watson (Casey), Bradley L. Watson (Angela), Alyssa L. Hooten (Lynn), and Amanda L. Brent, great-grandchildren, Emily, Tucker, and Cooper Watson, and Bradley Watson, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday April 17th at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, with Pastor Randy Long officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501) 327-7727.

So sorry about Evelyn. I never did get over there as I wanted. Being a caregiver doesn't allow me to be instant in what I want to do. Your parents were always so kind to Verlon and me. Be comforted in knowing she isn't in pain anymore.

May the God of all comfort - give you peace.
