Gary was aptly nicknamed as he was always a spark and lit up the room when he entered. I'm grateful for his friendship and learned so much more about him at his service.
Terry, what a beautiful job you and your friends did to honor Sparky's memory. My prayers for you and Jonathan.

I am so sorry to hear this news just recently. Gary was a very special friend to my husband, Angelo and will be remembered forever as this. I remember the lovely times when we met when you were in Bermuda and I hope you remember them fondly too. Maybe in your healing time you will return to spend some time with us eating good food and enjoying some sunny weather. I pray for strength for you and your family through this time. Love from Cynthia - Bermuda

Gary's gift for friendship was unique and unforgettable. I can say without reservation that my life was immeasurably richter because I knew him and will be immeasurably poorer without him.

'Sparky' and I became friends through my former law partner, the late-Bill Blevins. We were all legal business friends who grew into just pals. (The thought of times shared makes me smile even now.) He was a good man and a loyal friend. We extend to all of those who loved him, our sincere sympathies as his absence will long be noted. Simply put - 'Sparky' was just a great and good guy...

Dear Terry & Family,
Please accept our greatest condolences for your loss. We came to know and greatly respect Gary during his work in the mining sector in Toronto and Colombia. We so much enjoyed the time we spent with you and Gary in Florida and Toronto. We cannot begin to express the professional respect we have for Gary and his profound decency. His kind heart, caring attitude and gentlemanly demeanour were always an example for all. We will miss him and we are thankful for the opportunity we had to meet him. Terry & Jonathan, I loved Gary and always found him to be thoughtful, helpful, kind and fun. My fondest memories are when you all were my neighbors. I can just see him now, driving down that back drive on his way to the gym or the store. He'd always stop and visit and ask how I was. He was a giant of a man. I join a multitide of his friends who will greatly miss him. Prayers are being said for you two.

To Terry and all of the Barket family,

Our hearts break at this news; Gary was much too young to have left us at this time.

We have known Gary for many years and he was a figure larger than life. When we would see him. there always was a loud, hearty welcome with a big smile and some quip or comment. He loved his friends and they loved him. He will be missed.

Godspeed and rest in peace, friend.

Condolences,

Greg & Angie Hopkins
