Annette and Family É In tribute to your mom,
I share with you Pete Seeger's adaptation of Eccl. 3; To every thing there is a season É
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time to every purpose, under Heaven
Fredrick and I send our deepest condolencesÉ In His Love, Jan
Jane and Annette,
I'm so sorry about your loss. Your mom was a special person. It must have been gratifying for her and for you that she had enjoyed her recent birthday celebration activities so much. Jane, I remember the night of Pres. Clinton's re-election in Little Rock where I think I have photos showing you, your mom, and my mom, all having quite the time!
When I lost my dad, I found special comfort in the words from this 'Native American Prayer'. Maybe it will do the same for you.
"Do not stand at my grave and weep..
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry..
I am not there. I did not die."
Although I cannot attend the services this evening and tomorrow morning, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
David
