Joe T. BassI am a Veteran.

of Conway, AR

July 20, 1937 - January 20, 2014

Joe T. Bass, 76, of Conway passed into a better life on Monday, January 20, 2014 at Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, July 20, 1937 to the late Curtis and Nora Bass of Holland, Arkansas, and is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Jane Bass.

He is survived by three sons, Timbo (Saundra) of Greenbrier, Tony of Enid, OK and Kevin (Judy) of Conway, sisters, Wanda Rose and Sonnye McClung of Greenbrier, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bass was raised on a farm in Holland Arkansas, served in the US Army and started his career as a sheet metal worker, eventually forming a successful business in Conway serving thousands of homes. But the hands-down highlight of his life on this earth was in forming a gospel singing group (the Free Spirit Singers), traveling and ministering to people while lending a rich, booming singing voice to the service of his Lord. He greatly enjoyed every Cardinals game (win or lose), frying large quantities of bacon (for later use) and never, ever ate a meal without a generous coating of salt. He had a great sense of humor and a generous heart for lost souls.

Joe Bass was regarded as an honest, respectable man to many people who will be greatly missed and admired. To his three sons to whom he reminded often that he loved dearly, he was and will always be, our hero.

Thanks Dad.

Funeral Services are set for 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2014 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park with his sons officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Tony, Timbo & Kevin - working for your Dad was one of the great priviliges of my life. I learned many things from him concerning business and life lessons that will carry me through. I still tell people my favorite job and boss was Joe "T" Bass! I was very saddened to hear of his passing. Mr. Bass was always ready to go be with our Lord and now I am positive that his rewards are being heaped upon him. Until we meet again Mr. Bass.

Mr. Bass did some remodeling work on my house several times. He was always an honest, professional worker. I admired him and his wife, Pat, whom I worked with at CHDC years ago. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Timbo, Tony, & Kevin,
I am saddened to hear of the loss of your dad. Mr. Bass was a great baseball coach and a part of some of the best memories of the Ferrell boys growing up years.
Dirt clod fights, lots of great ball games , practices, shooting fireworks at Beaverfork , even accidentally leaving Tony behind one night. Luckily, Tony found a way home and all was well.
Mr. Bass taught many baseball lessons and loved to pitch batting practice. He demanded and earned our greatest respect. He will be greatly missed, but his great influence continues in us.
My thoughts are with you.

Timbo, I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. It was just over 30 years ago that I lost my dad and I can tell you that you'll always miss him, but it won't always hurt so much. And if I knew Joe at all, I'm pretty sure he's right where he wanted to be...singing with the other greats in Heaven's choir. Praying for you all...
