of Conway, AR
December 11, 1928 - December 22, 2013
Billy Duffield, 85, 350 Grandview Heights left his earthly home for his new Heavenly Home, Sunday December 22, 2013. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Luke Duffield of Pottsville, AR. Billy accomplished many feats, he with the help of his family built Souter Construction, which provided many people with Jobs to support their families. He never knew an 8 hour day. Most days beginning with his exercise to help with a heart problem he developed at an early age. He was an avid supporter of the AR Razorbacks, and the ABC Boxing Club.
He began this life with the help of his wife of 66 years Ernestine Crow of Dardanelle, AR. To this blessed reunion came their greatest pride, their two sons. God blessed them with Larry and Randy Duffield. Randy married Katy Traffanstedt, and from this marriage he was able to enjoy the love of a grandson Blake Duffield, and he added to this family wife Leslie Magee.
And as important as family Billy was blessed with many friends, but one extra ordinary that God blessed him with for many years; Jimmy Younts stood by him in good times as they attended many sports events. As Billy's health became worse he stood by him traveling to hospitals and wherever he could be of help he was there. Besides his immediate family he had surviving him brother and sisters; Margaret Taylor, Ronnie Duffield, Carolyn Kendrick all who live in Pope County and Linda Duffield of Amelia Island, FL, many nephews, nieces and a host of friends. We thought of the perfect scripture for Billy found in II Timothy 4 verses 6-8: ''6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.''
Pallbearers: Charlie Stewart, Ryan Oneil, Luke Hayes, Ozell Nelson, Luke Duffield, David Duffield.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Robert Thurlby, Jim Younts, Bill Carder, Odell Pfiefer, Dr. CD Williams.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013, with Reverend Jim Huffman officiating, at Central Baptist Church in Conway, AR. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the charity of your choice.
With our deepest condolences. (Acts 24:15).
Mr. Duffield was as fine a man as I have ever known. Just no telling how many people he helped as was his true character. May he now rest in peace.
Mr. D was like a second Father to me. I learned many of life's lessons from working for and with Mr. D. He will be missed, but not forgotten. He remains in the hearts of the many, many people he touched and in those of his beloved family.
Billy Duffield was such a great man. He took time to share his wisdom and knowledge which helped me become a better person, gain experience and open up opportunities which I truly believe could have only happened through him. Always helping someone. Enriched so many lives he did. Such a great outstanding human being for people to look up to. Memories held and not forgotten. You will be missed. Love you Mr. D
He was a good man..and will be missed.
Ernestine, Larry, Randy & Katy,
Sending each of you my love and condolences on the death of Mr. D. He was a very special man and certainly took very good care of my family when Steve worked for him. You are each in my prayers. He will be missed!
This is to all of the Duffield Family, Billy D was one of the old school Contractors who taught our Company a lot about Hand Shake Agreements still being doable. We went for many years on that type of arrangement at Gore. He is missed. But in a very good way.

My family & our church family are praying for you this week May God encourage you and comfort you
My thoughts and prayers are with the Duffield family. Mr Duffield was one of the hardest working men I have ever met. He will be sadly missed by many.
Grandpa Duffield was a wonderful man, whom I thought very highly of. He was always so positive and uplifting. I never pass by Skyline Drive without thinking of him. May God be with the family at this time.
Neil and I both have such fond memories of Mr. Billy. Our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Ernestine, Larry, Randy and all who loved him.
It was my pleasure and honor to be able to help with the care of Billy these last few weeks.
May God provide you all with his peace and comfort.

With fond memories, our family will remember Mr. Duffield.
When someone we love dies, it leaves a hole in our hearts. This sorrow was felt by Jesus, Mary and Martha when Lazarus their brother died. Jesus said to Martha: “I am the resurrection and the life, the one who exercises faith in me even though he dies, will come to life. Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Then he proceeded to resurrect Lazarus and he promises to resurrect all those in the memorial tombs. Please read John 5:28, 29 in your Bible and may this hope bring your family comfort.
