Esther Thompson, 85, of Benton passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. She was born September 9, 1928 in Shaw to the late Anderson and Carrie Burton Parsons. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Carl James Thompson, two sons, Douglas and Dwight Thompson, and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one son, Larry Thompson and wife Diana of Benton; daughter-in-law, Paula Thompson of Haskell, and her grandchildren, Viola Hobby and husband Jeromy and Carrie Thompson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2013 at New Friendship Cemetery in the Shaw Community with Rev. Jerry Wallace officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, December 12th at the Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).

Memorials in Mrs. Thompson's honor may be made to New Friendship Cemetery Fund.
