LaVerne Bradshaw Lacefield, 86, of Little Rock passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Valley Ranch Nursing & Rehab in Little Rock. She was born November 2, 1927 in Alexander to the late William O. and Nannie M. (Ulmer) Bradshaw. Mrs. Lacefield was a school teacher for over 30 years in the North Little Rock and Pulaski County Special School Districts. She was also a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, one brother, Raymond Bradshaw and two sisters, Lorene Ellis and Margaret McQuaigue also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn McLeod and husband James of Little Rock; one son, David Lacefield and wife Joyce of Lantana, TX; grandchildren, Teresa Grandon, Chuck Beets, Connor, Evan , and Tyler Lacefield, Elizabeth Bret, and Michael McLeod; great grandchildren, Kristen Grandon, Zac Grandon, Liliana, Gloria, and Henry Lacefield, and Alice and Matthieu Bret; great-great grandchildren, Kaydence Willbanks and Levi Grandon, several nieces, nephews, other family, and many friends.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047). Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday December 11th one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
I worked at FoxRidge for 11 years and LaVerne was a really sweet and kind person. i will miss her everlasting smile and upbeat personality.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Laverne's death. I loved her so much, even though we didn't stay in touch she was special to me. My prayers are with you the family. Will see you on Wednesday.
