Jimmy Ray Phillips, Sr., 70, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on December 24, 1942 in Paris to his parents Fredrick Daniel Phillips and Hazel Pauline (Lewis) Phillips. He was a pilot and served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander in Europe. He was of the protestant faith.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Daniel Phillips; a grandson, Zachary Phillips and a sister, Paula Faye Phillips.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel Pauline Phillips; two daughters, Melissa Buhrle and husband Berkley of Salina, Kansas and Danna Silva of Charleston, AR; four sons, Derek Phillips of Granite Falls, NC, Joel Phillips and wife Cynthia of Baldwin, KS, Jimmy R. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Fort Lee, VA and Michael Phillips and his wife Daunn of Phoenix, AZ; sixteen grandchildren, Trevor Buhrle, Paisley McClanahan, Lacey Buhrle, Braden Phillips, Maddison Phillips, Logan Phillips, Taylin Phillips, Natalie Phillips, Noah Phillips, Wendy Phillips, Cody Silva, Alexandria Silva, Cody Phillips, Kaleb Phillips, Isiah Phillips and Breanna Phillips; three great grandchildren, Astrid Buhrle, Asher Buhrle and Daisey Silva; two sisters, Brenda Pike-Baker of Branch, AR and Lisa Buck of Ozark, AR; three brothers, Dannie Phillips of Van Buren, AR, Jerry Phillips of Paris, AR and Arvene Phillips of Paris, AR; ex-wife, Jean Phillips of Granite Falls, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris and will be followed by a private interment under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
