My husband Vernon got to know Charlie through stagehands here in the Nashville area. I am honored I got to know him. He was so intellegent, yet down to earth. He had worn many hats, but the one he liked the best was "DAD" ...he was a good friend, and I am so sorry to the family. We will always think on the good times!

I went to high school with Charlie. I remember that he had achieved a measure of proficiency in the martial arts. Charlie was a good guy. He was well-liked and respected by his classmates. My condolences to his family.

You're always aware of the fact that someone is gone, but to believe it is an entirely different story. To believe that my dad is gone is one of the hardest things to ever do. If you google "zest for life", he may as well have been the first thing to pop up. He always treated everyone like kings and queens, and always made me believe I could do whatever I wanted in life. I'm going to miss everything about him, even his occasional grumpiness. My dad was one of the most kind-hearted people I've ever known. I hope he's having a good rest and just living up life up there. Rest in peace dad, I love you.

Father, husband, brother, friend. We have lost you much too soon. Your smile, humor, easy way of being....we love you Charley. When I miss you, I look at Patrick. You live on in both our children, in all our hearts. Intertwined forever. Forever I will love and miss you.

My heart goes out to Charley's family and friends. He was such a happy guy, so full of life and fun. From the moment I met him, which was many, many years ago, I never forgot him. Still have Christmas cards that he sent to me. I am so glad that we got back in touch through facebook. He was a blessing and will always be in the hearts of those who loved him. Goodnight my friend. My sister, Pat, and I were blessed to be able to visit with Charley this past week in CA. Although he was struggling with his health, it was great to hug him again and share many memories--we hope he understood us. He really never met a stranger and was loved by all; he could light up a room like no other. I have dozens of messages from friends expressing their condolences. We loved you Charley; you will always be in our hearts! RIP little brother!

Charlie and I pledged Sigma Chi at U of A together in fall of 1964. We were also roommates the 2nd nine weeks of our pledge semester. I believe Charlie transfered after that semester. I remember him being a judo expert and I knew I didn't want to mess with him. He was a good fella to have on your side! I'm very sorry to learn of his untimely death. My condolences to all his family and friends.

To Charley's children: Although we didn't know you we want you to know that his friends from school loved him very much. He was always there when we needed him and would do just anything for his friends. We have not seen him since one of the high school reunions but his class of 1964 Hall High will miss him.
