John Herbert Barger, age 95 of Searcy, died Monday, April 18, 2005 at his home.  He was born April 24, 1909 to John Thomas and Annie Simpson Barger.  He is survived by two children, Annidell “Annie” Barger Cook, Bill Barger and wife, Patricia; 5 grandchildren, Doug Cook, Angie Cook Jansa, Dana Barger Jones, Steven Barger and Craig Barger; seven great-grandchildren Weston Barger, Stephanie Barger, Will Jones, Dillon Cook, Lexie Jansa, Jordan Watts and Justin Edwards-Watts; two sisters, Lyda Busby and Bobbie Jones; three brothers Arlie Barger, Olen Barger and Erwin Barger.  He was preceded in death by one sister Deola Crossland; three brothers Coen Barger, Leslie Barger and Archie Barger; and two wives, Hazel Bogle Barger of 55 years and Marie Covington Barger of 15 years.  Mr. Barger was a member of First Baptist Church of Searcy.  He was a Shriner and a 32nd Degree Mason.  He was the owner of Barger Oil Company of Searcy for many years.  He was an avid sportsman in his younger years and loved gospel music having been in the Searcy Gospel Quartet for several years.  His great sense of humor, compassion for others and his love for God set him apart from others.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 10:00 o’clock in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with interment immediately following at White County Memorial Gardens.
