Theda Marguerite (McLaughlin) Duren, age 86, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012. She was born February 25, 1926 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to the late Homer McLaughlin and Marguerite (Day) McLaughlin. She was a member of Parkview Methodist Church in Benton and retired from the Benton School District after working many years as a cafeteria cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Duren, and her brother John McLaughlin.
Survivors include Margaret Compton and husband, Bob of Hot Springs and Mary Lou Wilkins and husband Mike of Leesburg, Virginia; five grandchildren: Pam Wood and husband, Allen of Bryant, Brian Compton and wife, Leigh of Little Rock, Todd Compton and wife, Amber of Hot Springs, Kim Coughlin and husband, Matt of Leesburg, Virginia, and Scott Wilkins and wife, Melissa of Bentonville; twelve great grandchildren, Jeff and Alex Wood, Zachery, Ava, and Aimsley Compton, Samantha Campbell, Lyndsay and Landon Wilkins, and Maleah Jones Wilkins, and Jake, Nick, and Brett Coughlin, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047) with Pastor Stephen G. Raines officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Wilkins, Mike Wilkins, Bob Compton, Brian Compton, Todd Compton, and Allen Wood.
Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Jones Cemetery in Amity Arkansas.
Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service, from 9:00 10:00 AM on Saturday, at the funeral home.
