William Lawrence ''Larry'' Lancaster, age 84, passed away in his Mabelvale home on Friday, October 05, 2012 while surrounded by his adoring family. He was born to Ralph Eugene Lancaster and Dora Mea Ivy in Biscoe, Arkansas
He proudly served a term in the United States Navy and worked for the Railroad for over 30 years. He also loved construction of any kind and along with his wife, he was a successful business owner having built a restaurant from the ground up by himself which they owned and managed for 26 years. He also built several additions to his family home. His love of construction was passed down by his father who was a carpenter. For several years, he enjoyed traveling while he worked driving a semi-tractor trailer across country. Often, he was able to take his wife along to enjoy the sights. Larry was known for his old fashioned qualities, was respected by many and loved life providing for his family.
Larry is survived by his lovely wife of 34 years, Brenda and five daughters, Melissa DeBeaux-Hess of Mabelvale, Selena Schmidt and her husband, Glen of McKinney TX, Michelle Lambert and her husband, Shane of Benton, Sherry Lancaster of Mabelvale and Cathy Lancaster-Luchsinger and her husband, Jody from Mabelvale; five grandchildren, Trevin Bradshaw and his wife, Shantel of Little Elm TX, Justin Bradshaw of McKinney TX, Annalise DeBeaux of Mabelvale, Caden Lambert and Kinsley Lambert both of Benton, and one great-grandson Brody Aiden Bradshaw of Little Elm, TX. He is preceded by his sister, Jerry Gurley from DeValls Bluff and survived by his sister Mary Sharp of DeValls Bluff.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (501-315-4047).

Funny how things happen for a reason. Just this month last year, I met you for the first time. Apparently fate had brought us together for that special moment. I feel privileged to have known you even if it was for just a short while. Selena had a wonderful and loving father. May you be at peace.
