Winford was a U.S. Postman and local roofer but come Friday night each fall for the past 20 years he was known as the “Voice of the Eagles”. He was loved by all Eagle fans for his infectious phrases such as “Touchdown Eagles and See Yaaaaaa” but more important he was loved for the multiple decades he spent mentoring young athletes throughout the area.
Because of his love for all high School Sports the family request that all of those attending his services dress in your favorite team’s attire. No doubt most people will be dressed in Royal Blue and White but those from Subiaco are encouraged to wear Orange and Blue, Scranton purple and gold, Charleston black and gold etc.. The family would love to see all communities come together to celebrate his wonderful life.
