Helen Jean Filyaw, 70, of Bassett, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Baptist East Hospital, Memphis, TN. Born Wednesday, December 24, 1941 in Golden Lake, AR to Edward and Virginia Young Armstrong; she was a member of Nodena Baptist Church and worked at American Greetings for forty years.
Survivors include two daughters: Shirl Filyaw of Bassett and Donna Jarratt of New Albany, MS; one grandson: Zachary Jarrett, Jonesboro, AR; two sisters: Linda Griggs and Evelyn Adcock both of New Albany, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jerry Don Filyaw and one sister: Ann Stephens.

I love 💕 you mom and miss you so much and think about you a lot and want to let you know , I took real good care of Shirl and while she had cancer ,I took care of her until she passed , it broke my heart into pieces and then in 2017 the next year Zack passed away and that has been hard it nearly killed me and is still rough. I have lost y’all all and miss you dearly. I know the lord is taking good care of you and that y’all are in a better place than we are. Love y’all and miss you dearly until I see y’all again !! God Bless y’all!!!
