William T. “Junior” Reed, age 81, of Harrison, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. Junior was born August 9, 1932, in Eula, Arkansas, to William “Billy” and Francis “Frankie” Marlow Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cecil Reed, Ed Reed, and Ed’s infant twin; and seven sisters, Lucy Atkinson, Cindy Manns, Hattie Hogue Roberts, Cora Hendrix, Dorthy Emerson Bennett, Jean McCutcheon and Marion Carter.

Junior was a member of Capps Full Gospel Church and loved Gospel music. He married the love of his life, Modean Riddle, on January 23, 1954. He was a lifelong resident of Searcy and Boone Counties, where he worked at Flexsteel for 30 years. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and anything to do with the great outdoors. He was a handyman and would work on anything. He was always there to help anyone and he enjoyed watching his grandson play sports and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife, Modean Riddle Reed, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul “Eddie” and Teresa (Milam) Reed, of Harrison; a niece and nephew who Junior and Modean raised as their own, Janie Riddle Nugent and her husband Gerald of Jasper, Texas and Jim Riddle and his wife Nida Labis of Gassville, Arkansas; his grandson, William Paul Reed, of Harrison, who was the joy of his Papa’s life. He is also survived by his great-nieces, Judith Nugent of Kingwood, Texas and Jessica Riddle McCollom of Farmington, Arkansas; his great-nephew, John Ryan Riddle, of Springfield, Missouri; and a host of relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.

Visitation was Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the church.

Funeral service was Monday, July 9, 2012, at Capps Full Gospel Church with Rev. David Shekels and Rev. Eddie Reed officiating.
