Kathryn Jane McKewen Travis, 93 years old passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012. She was born on February 1, 1919 in DeWitt, Arkansas to the late Roy and Sadie McKewen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood Burkett Travis and her brother, Charles McKewen and one nephew, Pat McKewen.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Hampton (Larry) of Arlington, Texas and Kathy Hendrixson (Mike) of Ferndale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Michelle Goldman, Jane Cook, Dr. David Hendrixson and Stephen Hampton; seven great grandchildren, Ryan, Mark, Amber, Kristen, Austin, Zachary and Bridget; and one great-great granddaughter, Riley. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn retired from Centers for Youth and Family as a secretary. She was an active member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church until her health prohibited her attendance just a few years ago.

Kathryn was a true southern lady – always dressed in heels and hose, hair fixed, and always a hug and smile for everyone. God and family always came first in her life.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211 (501) 224-8300 with Reverend Randy Hyde officiating. Graveside committal service will be 2:30 p.m. at Dewitt Cemetery.

Family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Valley Ranch Nursing and Rehabilitation and Odyssey Hospice for their thoughtful and excellent care of mother.
