Modenia Holloway Smith
October 13, 1921 - May 1, 2012

Modenia Holloway Smith, 90, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord, May 1, 2012. She was born October 13, 1921, in Wooster, Arkansas, to the late Ether and Mary (Clements) Holloway. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Wooster and the Greenbrier Senior Citizen's Center. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she loved her family very much. She loved the Lord above all and she was an inspiration to her children. Service to others was her gift.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Owen Darrell Smith; a great granddaughter, Dawnee Smith; a great grandson, Owen James Smith; four brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. Smith is survived by four children, Odis Dean Smith (Sharon) of Damascus, Marilyn Tubbs (Lynn) of Greenbrier, Judy Atkinson (John) of Shady Grove and Randy Smith (Nancy) of Shady Grove; 13 grandchildren, Owen Daniel Smith, Paul Dean Smith, David Lee Smith, Robert Darrell Martin, Robin Michelle Martin Tyler, Cindy Lavon Martin, John Paul Atkinson, Jeanna Bernice Atkinson, Amanda Modenia Smith Hamling, Samantha Elaine Smith Butler, Victoria Ann Marie Smith, Candace Elizabeth Smith and Kaleb Andrew Smith; 26 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at First Baptist Church, in Wooster. Mrs. Smith's funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church, in Wooster. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, in Wooster.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff of Odyssey Hospice, Dr. Lander Smith, the Greenbrier Senior Citizen's Center and all the prayers and visits while she was ill and those who offered support to the family.
