Mr. Bradley K. Broadaway
April 30, 1958 - April 14, 2012

Bradley K. Broadaway, age 53, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Born April 30, 1958 in Little Rock, AR, Brad spent his younger years calling North Little Rock his home. A 1976 graduate of North Little Rock Ole Main. Brad served as President of the Student Council and was a member of the Key Club, North Little Rock Boy’s Club and the Wildcats football team. Brad attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello before returning home in 1977 to begin his career in the family business, BASS Inc., spending 30 years “painting the world black” from Arkansas to Central America. After marrying his wife, Janet, they embarked together on their dream of raising Paint horses in Cabot. Brad’s passions were the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and riding his horse “Easy”. He was known for his annual “wild game feasts”, where friends and family would gather to sample the harvest of his hunts and learn to savor squirrel, deer, hogs, quail, alligator, even rattlesnake. Brad cherished his time with his children and his precious granddaughters. He was most proud of watching his son and daughter as they began forming their own families and careers. He looked forward to visits from Kori and Mila, to share horseback rides and the joys of nature. Brad was also blessed with many loyal and beloved friends, many of these lifelong friendships kindled from childhood days growing up in the Tanglewood neighborhood.

Brad is survived by his wife, Janet Yielding Broadaway of Cabot; his parents, Jake and Virginia Broadaway of Maumelle; daughter Jessica Broadaway Pope (Brandon) of Pensacola, FL; son Ben Broadaway of Rogers, AR; and granddaughters Kori Lynn and Mila Rae Pope of Pensacola, FL. Also survived are his sister Jan Broadaway Stafford (Tony) of Sherwood, AR; in-laws, Leon and Pat Yielding of North Little Rock; nieces Tara Yielding of North Little Rock; Sarah Stafford of Bowling Green, KY; Laura Stafford Murray of Sherwood, AR.; and Mary Kathryn Stafford of Little Rock. Brad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sidney and Gertrude Stockwell; Vance and Mildred Broadaway; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Yielding, all of North Little Rock.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M., April 18, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, 5200 Fairway Avenue, North Little Rock, AR. Interment at Monk Cemetery, Ward, AR, will follow the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 J.F.K. Blvd, Hwy 107, North Little Rock.

The family suggests that memorial gifts may be made in Brad’s name to Beyond Boundries, P.O. Box 333, Ward, AR 72176. Beyond Boundries is a therapeutic riding program that currently provides horseback riding therapy to individuals with disabilities, as well as “Horses for Heroes”, a program that provides free therapeutic riding services to those having served in the military.
