Luke Jason Whitehead
July 5, 1974 - April 5, 2012

Luke Jason Whitehead, age 37, of Western Grove, passed away Thursday April 5, 2012, at his residence surrounded by those he loved. Luke was born July 5, 1974, in Lufkin, Texas, the son of Jerry and Ronda Whitehead and Anna Kay Culver. Luke was preceded in death by his daughter, Jaden Marie Whitehead; and his grandparents, Anna Bell and Amil Grier.

Mr. Whitehead was of the Assembly of God faith. He was a long time resident of Western Grove. He met the love of his life, his “baby”, Luciana Trammell, while attending Valley Springs High School and married her October 31, 1996, in Harrison. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, anything outdoors, and loved making everyone happy. He was a true Good Samaritan who would take in any stray, animal or human, and help them any way that he could.

Luke is survived by his wife, Luciana (Trammell) Whitehead, of the home; two sons, Travis Whitehead & Jeremiah Burton Whitehead; three daughters, Jewell Brianna Whitehead, Kalie Ann Whitehead and Megan Whitehead; his father and step-mother, Jerry & Ronda Whitehead; his mother, Anna Kay Culver; two sisters, Shannon Martin (Michael) of Western Grove and Christy Choate of Missouri; his step-sister, Devona Dickey; and his step-brother, Brent Carlton.

Luke is also survived by his grandparents, J. B. and Marie Whitehead and Gary and Bobbie Richart; his nephews, Wes Phillips, Derek, Justin, Matthew and Brent Martin; and several aunts, uncles & cousins.

Visitation was Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral services was Monday, April 9, 2012, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Terry Eddings and Leo Dye officiating.

Interment was in Jaden Memorial Garden.

Pallbearers were Jerry Whitehead, Wes Phillips, Bull Kidd, Robert Lemanskir, Dale Robinson and Randy Rae.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Kidd, Sam and Wes Trammell, Simpson Trammell and the staff of Pace Industries.
