Wilton J. Goudeaux, Jr., 77, of Joiner, entered into rest February 20, 2012. He was born July 1, 1934 in Chelford, Arkansas to the late Wilton J Goudeaux, Sr. and Jessie Mae (Hayes) Goudeaux. He was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School and a graduate of Arkansas State University. He taught social studies at Shawnee High School where he was the Junior High School assistant football and basketball coach. He was a Methodist minister and was pastor at many churches in Arkansas. He participated in missionary work in Haiti during the 1980's and was a Boy Scout leader. His hobbies included sky diving, scuba diving, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his two sons: Wilton J. Goudeaux, III of Joiner and John Paul Goudeaux of Pleasant View, TN; two grandchildren; one sister: Elizabeth Anne (Goudeaux) Adams of Joiner; one niece, Sherry Bennett and two nephews, Mark and Ed Adams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean (Ammons) Goudeaux, his parents and his daughter, Pamela Goudeaux.
I remember the fun we had sliding down the levee when it snowed. Walter Glover would take a bunch of us in his jeep and pull the sled to the levee
Wilton and I had some good times together. I remember going to his Dad's funeral in Bassett. My brother Grant played Taps at the funeral. I wish things could have gone better at the end of his life.
