Gracie Lorene Parker, 89, of Batesville died Monday, February 27, 2012 at a local hospital.
She was born March 13, 1922 in Batesville and was the daughter of Arthur T. Parker and Margie Alice (Sherrill) Parker.
Gracie worked with the civil service in Blytheville during World War II; the International Shoe Factory in Batesville; then Boeing Aircraft in wiring assembly in Wichita, Kansas. She transferred from Wichita to New Orleans, Louisiana to work with the space program until her retirement. She was a member of Magness Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sisters, Wilma Brandenburg of Wichita, Kansas and Ina Branscum of Batesville; nieces, Carla Basinger, Linda Stanfield, Nina Parker, Paula Hodson, Anita Gail Anderson, and Bernice Walls; nephews, Coy Aaron Chinn and Jerry Chinn; great-niece, Marisa Giffin; and great-nephew, Sean Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arthur Parker, Jr. and Mason Parker; a sister, Vera P. Walls, a niece, Betty Walls, and two nephews, John Walls and William Chinn.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mac's Chapel Cemetery near Sulphur Rock by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Memorials may be made to the Independence County Humane Society, #5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501

Memories of visiting Aunt Gracie and enjoying her down home fresh from the garden meal with conversations of her life growing up in Arkansas. I only wish I could have known her better because I surely loved what little time I did spend with her.
