Everett Diggs Swindle, 81, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, March 24, at his residence. Born in Paragould, he has lived in Jonesboro since 1946. He retired from truck driving in 1984 and has worked for Air Tite, Inc. for 17 years. Mr. Swindle was a WWII veteran having served in the Army Infantry. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Villa Mae Swindle, of the home; one son, Donnie Swindle of Jonesboro; one brother, Woodson Swindle of Edmond, OK; three sisters Francis Nichols, Dorothy Browning, and Louise Stark all of Jonesboro; four grandchildren Mike Swindle, Chris Swindle, Anthony Swindle and Tim Swindle all of Jonesboro; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.I. and Elsie Diggs Swindle; one son, Ronnie Swindle; and three brothers.
Graveside services will be held 1 pm Friday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Bro. Harold Russell officiating. Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
