Wanda ''Gracie'' May Young, 87, of Mtn. View went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2011 in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Wanda was born March 23rd, 1924 in Konowa, Oklahoma to Ider Branscum May and James ''Willie'' May. After the passing of her mother Ider, Wanda was raised like a daughter by her Aunt and Uncle who were Robert and Grace Shannon both of Mountain View.
She was a member of the First Church of Nazarene in Mountain View. She loved to read and in her later years she wrote many songs about the love she had for Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her biggest desire in life was that her family and friends would also come to know the same love. She loved playing the guitar and singing songs. When she was able she would spend hours singing songs that could make you laugh or make you cry. She was a very special Grandma who took time to sew clothes and quilts and bake cookies and just be there any time that she was needed. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a daughter Peggy Carmichael and husband James of Mountain View; sons, Edward Young and wife Christa of Texas, James Young and wife Sharon of California and Kevin Young and wife Robena of California; granddaughters, Cindy Chatman and husband Brad of Mountain View, Sueellen Tutt and husband Tom of Onia, Jennifer Carmichael of Mountain View and Stacy Young of California; grandsons, Eric Young of Jonesboro, Ark. and Patrick Young of California and several great-grandchildren. Other survivors are brothers, Doyal May and wife Sylvia of Mountain View and Orgyl Shannon and wife Melba who was close enough as a brother to her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Ider May also Robert and Grace Shannon; her two sisters, Dica Becker and Dorothy Branscum and a brother, Thelmar May, a grandson Steve Winningham and a daughter Mary Ellen Young. She was the wife of Clyde Edward Young for 49 years until he passed in 1992.
Her wishes were to have no services. Roller Crouch Funeral Home, Mtn. View is in charge of her cremation and her ashes will buried at Sugar Hill Cemetery of Richwoods next to her Beloved husband Clyde Young.

Just realized that this guestbook was on the website. Thank You both for the precious words. It's almost two years and I still miss Grandma very much but I know she wouldn't trade places for anything. She's in heaven praising Her Lord and Savior. Suellen

Wanda was a very special lady, when I went to clean her room she always wanted the blinds raised so she could look outside and she always had a smile on her face and never a complaint. She will be missed
