Carl Alfred Tate, 80, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1930 in Bono to the late Walter and Altie Tate. He lived in the Bono area all of his life. Carl was a farmer and was retired from Arkansas Glass Container. He was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Tate; a daughter, Darlene Robinson; two sisters, Daisy James and Mildred Tate; three brothers, Bobby Tate, Dillion Tate and William Tate; and a great grandson, Jackson Tyler Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lane Tate, of the home; one child and her spouse, Patricia and Greg Leatherwood of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Devin Tate, Kyle Leatherwood, Aaron Robinson, Rachel Robinson and Hunter Robinson; two great grandchildren, Emily Morris and Rileigh Tate; and two sisters, Ruthie Haner of Marion and Linda Coomer of Southaven, MS.
A celebration of life will be held 2 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Leon Minick officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation will be Noon until 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joey Baker, Johnny James, Bruce Carr, Kenneth Adams, Kelly Klingensmith, and Josh Carr. Steve Robinson, Hunter Robinson, Kyle Leatherwood and Devin Tate will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Carl was such a wonderful man, my husband and I worked with him many years at AGC. Sorry to hear of the passing of Carl our prayers are with the family.

Carl was very special to me and to my Mom.I will miss seeing him on my yearly trips back to the Bono area. He was a very special person.
