Queah Tacarr Habern

of Little Rock, AR

February 27, 1977 - March 19, 2011

Queah Tacarr Habern went to heaven at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011, after a long illness stemming from colon cancer.

Queah was born on Sunday, February 27, 1977, in Jackson, Michigan to her parents Donna Terrell and Ivan Habern. She joins her grandparents Rollo and Bessie Terrell of Albion, Michigan and Fannie Mae and Robert Habern of Albion, Michigan in Heaven.

Queah lived a rich life in her 34 years. She had a passion for travel having visited 13 countries and was planning to visit more. With her infectious personality she made many national and international friends along the way. That passion for travel took her to South Beach, Florida in February, and less than a week before her death, she visited Dallas attending a Mavericks-Lakers game.

Queah was a graduate of Cleveland State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, but she followed her passion for fashion and began working for Nordstrom's Department Stores in management, opening new stores in Columbus, Ohio and Houston, Texas. In Houston, she put her customer service skills to use in contract manufacturing, working as a project manager for Suntron Corporation in Sugarland, Texas and Benchmark Corporation in Angleton, Texas.

She is survived by her mother, father, and an uncle. She is loved and adored by a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300 in Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by a private memorial service. The family has requested donations be sent to Baptist Hospice, 11900 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, AR 72210, in lieu of flowers.

We are so sorry for your loss of such a beautiful daughter. Our own daughter is around Queah's age and we could not imagine going through what you have. From everything I have read Queah didn't waste a minute of her short life. Donna, you seem to be a very strong person and we know you can get through this with God's help. By the way you don't look like you are old enough to be Queah's mother, you looked more like sisters. We hardly ever miss the Fox 16 9:00 news and we feel like everyone on the show are our trusted friends. God Bless you and your husband.

Dearest Donna,
As an avid viewer of Fox 16 news and a huge fan of you and Kevin, I feel like family. Your accounts and sharing your journey with your daughter and her illness blessed me tremendously. I am sure her story and your beautiful and genuine manner of encouraging all women of becoming aware of managing their cancer in their journey and also preventing cancer, has touched and saved lives, as well as educating the general public. As a former educator in the Public Schools of Little Rock, you have educated and informed me with your "excellence" in reporting and your beautiful Godly spirit of caring that has bonded me with you forever. God Bless you as you continue to spread love and joy, for it is apparent that you are truly an "angel" sent by God to touch millions with your loving, "infectious" personality. We were in Atlanta, Ga for the "March Madness" basketball tournament, so just got around to reading back papers. My love, prayers and sympathy are with you and yours.

Donna,

The other night on the news I watched Kevin Kelly make what appeared to be the hardest news he had ever delivered, and then I saw how personal it was. I watch you guys every evening on the news and although I had known of your daughters health issue in the past, was shocked and saddened to hear Kevin speak of your loss. I have one child like you also, and I can not imagine losing him. Donna I know there are no words that anyone could say to you, that would comfort you and take your pain away. I know that you know your daughter is no longer suffering and is in a better place, a place that we all want to be when our time comes. I know you will miss her terribly for the rest of your days on this earth. Time will distance you from the pain, and her memories will be with you forever. Thank God for the time you shared with her. You developed her into a fine woman by example, you lead and she followed. Be proud, be strong, and carry on!

We love you Donna, You and Kevin are the best news team on Air in Little Rock at this time. Keep it up!

Queah is my cousin and we were born just 4 months apart. We went to school together and even then, she always had good advice for me. I am proud that I can call her a part of my family, but even more proud to have known her as a person. She was a strong, successful black woman that was easy for people to look up to and admire. Her life here was too short but the impact of her life through the lives and hearts she touched will live on forever. Rest in peace cousin

Donna,

I was so saddened to hear about your daughter. Our deepest sympathies go out to you & your family from my family. Our prayers are with you.

Queah lived a productive & fruitful life, and you have been a great mother. Be thankful that you were in a position to give her most, if not all, of her life's dreams; being able to travel around the globe and see and do so many things that most people only dream about.

I trust that the many condolences that you receive will give you some comfort in knowing that so many people care about you, and that you should not feel alone.

Just remember that God does not make mistakes, and he will get you through this.

Your Daughter has features of you
And so very beautiful too
But through the beauty God reached out
He had a mission for her to do

She hasn't left you all behind
It's not at all a goodbye
She's just traveled to one more place
To God's gracious home on high

You dont have to worry about Queah
Knowing she'll be missed by all
But on March 19th God had a reason
And that's why her name was called

Think of the many shared moments
The laughter, girl talks, prom and her smile
Iknow you must have been proud parents
Our prayers are with you in the loss of your child.

I have had the honor to work with and have breakfast with Queah and she will truely be missed. I would call and text her to let her know that I am praying for her and my church family was praying as well. Queah had a special smile and a wonderful voice that she would not let you be sad around her, inspite of what she was dealing with she would always have a smile and a special word for me. The last time I spoke with her in December was talked for about and hour and I will never forget get that converstation she was so happy she had her own place and looking forward to doing bigger and better things. She always would say that she love God and knew that God was going to heal her and be with her. Well mother I just want you to know you had a beautiful daugther and she will truely be missed. I pray that God give you strength and comfort in this time, your little angel is smiling and saying I love you mom. Grace and Peace.

I am very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know Queah I know how it feels to lose someone you love and for that reason I want to extend my sympathy and share a few words of encouragement. We never know how our lived will change from one day to the next because of time and unforeseen occurrences. What has brought me comfort is know that God cares about the broken at heart. Revelation 21:4 mentions a time when He will wipe away every tear from our eyes and death will be no more. John 5:28,29 and Psalm 37:11,29 are promises from God that He will undo all the effects of our worst enemy, death. It is my wish you will find comfort and hope from these thoughts from the Bible just as I have.

He was very sick and had 3/4 of his stomach had to be taken out. I saw him running up the hill of the most beautiful green grass. He was yelling, " I'm free, I'm free. Thank God I'm free."

He was seriously injured and dead for awhile and he told of going to a beautiful place and got to see them and others in our family.. He said it was so beautiful and peaceful he did not want to come back, but Jesus said he had to come back .

Donna, we may not be co-workers at this time but for six years we were and you have remained in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Queah was a lovely person with a sweet spirit and I know she is resting comfortably with God. May he continue to keep you in his hands during this difficult time. Know that I am here for you and so is our Lord. Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"

My thoughts and prayers are with your family in this time of need. I know it must be a hard time for you but God called his angel home. I pray that she touched many hearts. I am sure she will be missed. She is gone in body but not in spirit. She lives on with the wonderful memories she left behind.

Donna,
I was soooo sad when I heard the news about your daughter. I met her once at McArthur park you and her both. She talked to me for awhile even though she didn't know me..I guess she never met a stranger, but she was just a nice person to conversate with and she looked so much like you, but I said she must have some features of her dad too cause she is kinda tall (LOL) considering I'm 6'1 maybe it was the heels she had on though. I don't know how it feels to loose a child and I can only imagine what you are going through, because that day in the park I would have thought you were sisters you guys seemed to have a really good relationship. You were laughing and playing and I too have a daughter at that time she was around 7 or 8 but I was like I want that type of relationship with my daughter. I would have never knew she was sick because she was such a joy and pleasant person to be around. You have my deepest sympathy and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

In ALL instances we are chosen as GOD is the one who so presented this person to you (Donna) to nurture, love and present back to him as he saw fit. There is a very positive lesson in what he has blessed you with. You will (if you haven't already) realize just what the lesson is at the proper time. He does no wrong and we must know that she is in our father's hands. God Bless.

When I met my Granddaughter for the first time, she was so sweet that I felt we had been knowing each other a lifetime.
She was comical with a genuine sense of humor. For the short time we knew each other, she made you feel special. Her generosity was like no other I have ever known, always giving and not looking for anything in return.
All who knew Queah had to love her because she was so loveable.
I will miss Queah and wish I could have had more time to spend with her.
Queah will forever be in my heart.

She’s in a better place right now
Than she’s ever been before;
All pain is gone; she’s now at rest;
Nothing troubles her anymore.
It’s we who feel the burden of
Our sadness and our grief;.
We have to cry, to mourn our loss,
Before we get relief.
We know we’ll reconnect with her
At the end of each life’s road;
We’ll see her cherished face again
When we release our earthly load.
Love you Queah Habern!
Ms. Donna my prayers and thoughts are continuously with you!

Farewell
Tie the strings to my life, my Lord,
Then I am ready to go!
Just a look at the horses--
Rapid! That will do!

Put me in on the firmest side,
So I shall never fall;
For we must ride to the judgement,
And it's partly down hill.

But never I mind the bridges,
And never I mind the seas;
Held fast in everlasting race,
By my own choice and thee.

Good-by to the life I used to live,
And the world I used to know;
And kiss the hills for me, just once;
Now I am ready to go!

R.I.P. my sweet angel
