Charles Henry Fulbright, 83, of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born April 19, 1927 at Mount Pleasant and was the son of Edward Fulbright and Ida Winkle Fulbright.
In 1945 he was drafted and served in the U S Army during World War II and then reenlisted in the U S Air Force and served until 1966. He was in the Reserves another 10 years until 1976. Upon his retirement from the military, he worked at Boeing Aircraft until his retirement in 1992 at the age of 65. Mr. Fulbright had owned a cattle farm since 1957 and enjoyed working his cattle. He was an avid reader of politics and World War II history. He was a member of American Legion, the United Auto Workers and was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist.
He is survived by his son, Marty Fulbright and wife, Joanna of Melbourne; a daughter, Ida Rachelle ''Shelly'' Dale and husband, Gary of Mount Pleasant; four grandchildren, Charlee Dale, Kirby Dale, Carson Fulbright, and Clayton Fulbright.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Shaver Fulbright; and one brother, Joe Fulbright.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Melbourne officiated by Bro. Alvin Wiles.
Burial will be at Barren Fork Cemetery at Mount Pleasant.
Pallbearers are Donnie Fulbright, Gary Fulbright, Brian Fulbright, Mike Anglum, Paul Winkle, and Andy Winkle.
Honorary pallbearers are Jimmie Fulbright, D.B. Caraway, D.R. Edwards, Theodore Peterson, Carl Peterson, and Eddie Fulbright.
There will be no visitation.
