Beverly Bowers, 78, of Benton died June 12, 2010. She was born May 7, 1932 in Elgin, Illinois. She was a member of ''Class of 1950'' of Elgin High School. She was a Girl Scout and went on to be a Brownie Scout Leader of two troops in Carpentersville, IL. She also belonged to the Extension Homemakers in Benton and for eight years was chairman of Saline County EH Council Arts and Crafts Show and Sale. She loved handmaking crafts and baking fancy cakes and cookies, also, was a waitress for over forty years. She was a Boy Scout Mother with Troop 33 of Holland Chapel Church for several years. She was a member of Ten Mile Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Larry Bloemke; a nephew, Ted Bloemke of Mesa, AZ.
She is survived by her husband, Noel Vernon Bowers; children Georgi Anne of San Antonio, TX, Patricia Stuckey and husband, Chuck of Bismarck, AR, Wendy Moore and husband, Tony of Mablevale, Jeff Bowers and wife, Virginia, Debbie Alsup of Hot Springs,; and Mark Bowers and wife, Melissa; twenty-three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister Sharon Price of Eau Claire, WI; brothers, Duane Bloemke of Mari Copa, AZ, Richard Bloemke and wife, Lee of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) in Benton. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home with Bro. Vance Nutt officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Moore, Steven Moore, Donald Lawrence, Shane Banks, Jackie Banks, Nathan Banks, and Chris Sisk. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Tidwell and Levi Hedges. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.
Jeff-Ginnie and Family. You are in my my thoughts and prayers. May it be a source of inner strength to know that there's a loving God watching over you, and that, throughtout this time of need, He'll stay close by your side. Love to you all.

Thank you to those of you who have been so kind to care for mother and daddy in this lengthy illness. Aunt Joan & Uncle Maynard, who always came when needed - God Bless You. Trish & Lonnie, for being such good friends and neighbors and always there for them both. My sister Wendy and brother Mark for being so attentive to their needs.... you were indeed a blessing. Thank you to all of the Hospice workers for their concern and comfort for mother. You are all a blessing and Chuck and I remain in awe of you.
